Rules

Baltic Cup in Canoe Slalom

2012


Time

  • April 7th - 8th, 2012

Location

  • Harju county, Jägala-Joa village, Jägala river. The camp site is located on the right-hand bank of Jägala waterfall.

Competitors

  • The competition is open to everyone interested in canoe slalom and water tourism.


Scedule:

Friday, April 6th:

  • Arrival, camp setup, free training

Saturday, April 7th:

  • 08:00-16:00 course open for training

Sunday, April 17th:

  • 9:30 start protocol announcing

  • 9:45 team leaders meeting

  • 10:30 announcing of competition schedule
  • 11:00 1st run of qualification:
    K1 ladies, all groups of age (K1W, K1WJ)
    C1 all groups of age (C1, C1J)
    K1 men, all groups of age (K1M, K1MJ)

  • 12:00 2nd run of qualification:
    K1 ladies, all groups of age (K1W, K1WJ)
    C1 all groups of age (C1, C1J)
    K1 men, all groups of age (K1M, K1MJ)

  • 13:00 course change for semifinals and finals

  • 14:30 semifinal: 50% from all competitors, but no more than 20 atheletes (classes K1W, C1, K1)
  • 15:00 final: 50% from all competitors, but no more than 10 atheletes (classes K1W, C1, K1)

  • 16:00 award ceremony


Competiton rules:

  • Canoe slalom competition will be in accordance with ICF canoe slalom rules and current instructions.

  • Wearing of helmets and adequate buoyancy aids is mandatory.

  • Organisers reserve the right to change these instructions if necessary.

Boat classifications:

  1. Men K1M single kayak

  2. Men junior K1MJ single kayak

  3. Women K1W single kayak

  4. Women junior K1WJ single kayak

  5. C1 single canoe

  6. Junior C1J single canoe

  • Organisers reserve the right to change boat and age classifications if a boat classification contains less than 4 competitors.

Awards:

  • The three best in each boat classification will be awarded with cups, certificates and prizes.

Competitor's responsibility:

  • The competitor recognizes that participation in the competition is at one’s own risk and he or she takes responsibility to follow safety precautions.

  • The competitor is required to wear clothing designed to prevent hypothermia when immersed in cold water.

  • The competitor declares with a signature that he or she is competent at swimming.

  • The organisers do not take responsibility for any injury or damage to the competitor or competitor's equipment.

Resolving disputes:

  • All objections need to be submitted in writing no more than 15 minutes after an incident.

  • When an objection is submitted, bail of 15 EUR must be paid in accordance with ICF rules.

  • All objections will receive a response within 30 minutes of the completion of the competition.

Accommodation and catering:

  • All participants will bare their own costs.

  • The campsite is next to the competition course.

  • Open fire is prohibited. A primus or a camp stove can be used for food preparation at the campsite.
  • Accommodation is possible in Hostel Atoll (boats can be held in hostel garage). Additional options can be found at Turismiweb: see guesthouses or recreation centers and camps or contact us at .

  • An unguarded car park is on the right bank of Jägala river (consult the map).

  • There is a latrine at the campsite.

  • Koogi food store is 1 km from the opposite bank. Open 9:00 – 20:00.

Registration:

  • Pre-registration: send e-mail with competitors names, date of birth, club, boat classification and country.

  • Registration is mandatory for all competitors. To register competitor must present a signed registration forn for each competitor.

  • Start numbers will be given before the competition.

Starting fees:

  • Starting fee for persons registered until April 7th: 10 EUR for adult competitors and 7 EUR for juniors (born 1994 or later): From April 8th, the starting fee for everyone is 15 EUR.
